Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has assured residents of the kwali area councils of treating the construction of the road known as A2 to Pai as an emergency project.
The Minister, who declared this at the construction of Pai Gomani road in Kwali area council of the FCT, said the decision was taken to bring about good governance to the people of the area.
He noted that irrespective of people’s political leaning, it is necessary to have a good road to showcase their positions as leaders.
“Let’s talk about governance in reducing the suffering of the people so whether you are in PDP or APC wherever you belong to you must use this road. So this road is very important no matter how far it is we will make out time to see that we come here and see that the contractor is doing what he is supposed to do”, he said.
He explained that of all the road projects that have been flagged-off recently, the project was really touching.
Wike, who stressed on the importance of the road, said it was imperative to help the rural areas to reduce beaurcratic bottlenecks in order to achieve results.
The Minister also expressed sadness over the fact that the Director of Engineering Services, who was assigned to award the Pai road abandoned awarding the project.
“Now when you are coming from the express road they call it A2 to Pai, now the Director of Engineering services abandoned to award that contracts and started from Pai to Gomani.
How do you come to Pai when that road is bad who ever that masterminded that, you are not being fair at all and we can not continue this way, truth must be told at all times”, he said.
Furthermore, the Minister announced that President Bola Tinubu did not make him Minister of FCT to come and sell land, adding that he took the position of a Minister to support the President Tinubu to push up the infrastructural development of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The Minister added that the administration has restored the people’s confidence in government and assured that development will reach all parts of the nation’s capital in due course.
He also called on all to support President Bola Tinubu administration in order to enable him to succeed.
According to him, “we must give the president the support for Nigeria to move forward for Nigeria to be happy.”
He noted that the administration of the President was for all to benefit, participate and have the dividends of democracy.
“Mr President has promised all the Area Councils; give him time, be patient, it will get to all the Area Councils, you must have the impact of the President”, he said.
