Tragedy as 58yr old man allegedly poisons self to death with sniper

Tragedy struck in Igburowo town, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State following the death of a 58-year-old man who was said to have committed suicide by poisoning himself with chemical substance suspected to be snipper.

The discovery of the lifeless body of the middle-aged man whose name was given as Omolayo Bamidele, thrown the community into serious mourning as residents trooped to the scene to cash the glimpse of the lifeless body of the deceased lying down flat on the main road that links the community to a farm settlement.

Though, the cause of the death of the man who is also an indigene of the town is yet to be ascertained and sketchy as at the time of filing this report.

It was reliably gathered from the residents of the town that the news of the death of the man was brought to the notice of the community at about 10:30 am on the fateful day by an Octogenarian who noticed the lifeless body of the deceased lied down flat on the dusty road.

The Octogenarians was said to have immediately raised an alarm during which other residents of the community was said to have rushed to the scene apparently to cash the glimpse of the lifeless body of the deceased

It was gathered that the deceased, a father of four, shortly before terminating his life, was said to have had a minor argument with a member of his family and threatened to terminate his own life by drinking snipper substances.

A source from the community said the incident has continued to generate controversy among residents of the area who said the deceased might have left house early in the morning and trekked for some kilometres to the outskirts of the community before committing suicide.

Police source explained that investigation had begun on the cause of the incident as some members of the family of the deceased have been invited for questioning.
