As the 2nd Edition of the “Triple A” Annual football competition commences, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi has charged the Officers and men on the need to remain agile through regular exercise to enhance their physical fitness and mental alertness.
This was disclosed in a press release issued by CSC Afolabi Babawale the Corps’ National Spokesperson.
Addressing the Corps’ football team at the beginning of the Ahmed Abubakar Audi (Triple-A) Football Tournament in Abuja, the CG emphasized the importance of engaging in sporting activities, which culminates in the both physical, psychological and emotional state of the personnel.
According to the Commandant General, who doubles as the sponsor of the tournament, the Corps under his watch will continue to place relevance on activities that strengthen the ability and agility of officers as this would upscale their combat readiness and operational efficiency.
“We are duty bound to ensure the overall well-being of officers and men through sustainable approach and sporting activities remains imperative.
“The decision to midwife this football tournament hinged on the need to also promote togetherness, synergy and cooperation both within the Corps and amongst sisters security agencies,” he said.
Audi further affirmed that the football tournament would encourage the participation of various teams from different arenas thereby bridging gaps, building goodwill, and enhancing confidence in the Inter-agency relationships.
He also relayed that the 2nd edition would feature 8 Teams as against the Inaugural edition, where only 6 Teams were featured announcing that the NSCDC All Stars, Defending Champions Suleja All Stars Team, Airport Junction All Stars, Gwagwalada All Stars, CCFC amongst others would be on the tournament.
He, however, congratulated the teams in advance, hoping they would put in their best and also display their unique talents as best as they can.
