Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency of Plateau State under the platform of Labour Party (LP) Hon Dalyop Chollom has stated that Labour Party is contesting all positions from Chairman to Councillorship in the fourth coming local government election in the State.

Chollom made this known while addressing newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

He said “None of our candidates have stepped down for anybody. Thus, it is very appalling to hear such unfounded information being disseminated to the general public which is hereby vehemently refuted.”

The federal lawmaker also frowned at the vandalization of their Billboards/Banners and other campaign materials across the State stressing that the development is undemocratic, uncivil, and hereby condemnable.

He challenged the PLateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) to strictly adhere to its statutory mandate of conducting free, fair, and transparent elections that will be accepted to all parties in the state.

However, the PLASIEC Chairman Plangji Chishak while addressing Stakeholders meeting said the commission is committed to creating stable democratic institutions at the grassroots level aligns perfectly with Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s vision.

According to him, they are aware of the historical context that has shaped perceptions of State Independent Electoral Commissions (SIECs) in Nigeria as citizens have lost confidence due to past irregularities adding that they are ready to rewrite this narrative.
