MSMD postpones Mining Council Conference

Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, MSMD, in consultation with the Nasarawa State Government has postponed the sixth edition of the National Council on Mining and Mineral Resources Development, earlier scheduled to be held in Lafia, Nasarawa State, from November 27th to 29th.

A statement by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Mary Ogbe and issued to newsmen by Segun Tomori, Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development on Media stated that the postponement was due to logistical dynamics adding that a new date would be announced soon.

The annual conference is considered the highest policy formulation forum of the solid minerals sector bringing under one roof the private and public sectors and tiers of the Federation to discuss challenges impeding the sector’s growth and recommend solutions.
