Katsina govt donates N8.7m monetary support to victims of banditry

Katsina State Government has disbursed 8,700,000 Naira to the families of those killed, wounded victims and those whose properties were burnt during bandit attack in some areas of Danmusa Local Government.

Nigerian PILOT learnt that 1000,000 Naira was given to the families of security personnel that lost their lives in line of duty, while 200,000 Naira was given to the families of civilians that were killed and 100,000 Naira was given to injured victims

The affected village areas are: Yantumaki ‘B’ Daci, Mata ward, Yantumaki, Maidabino, Danmusa ‘B’, Gurza-kuka and Aidun-mangwaro ward of Danmusa Local Government areas.

The disbursement exercise held at the state Government house, press centre, had in attendance: the local government APC candidate chairman Ibrahim Namama, State representative Aminu Garba, APC chairman Rabi’u Jafaru, Local Government secretary Lawal Suleiman Maidabino, other stakeholder and families of those killed and wounded victims of banditry

In an address on behalf of Governor Dikko Radda, the senior special assistant on victims of banditry and internally displaced persons Sa’idu Ibrahim Danja condoled the victims family and sympathised with the injured victims

The senior special assistant Sa’idu Danja reaffirmed Government commitment in supporting the victims’ family

“Government is taking full responsibilities and medications of the injured victims at various health institutions across the country and the monetary support given to the families of those killed is not to compensate but to help in reducing their economic hardship” he stated.

The senior special assistant regretted the inhuman attitude of the bandits and informants working for them.

In a vote of thanks, the state member representing Danmusa Local Government Aminu Garba, acknowledged Governor Dikko Radda tireless support to those affected by banditry at the front line local Government areas and the state at large.
