Isokpunwu harps on need to revive Nigeria’s steel sector, grow GDP

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Steel Development, Dr. Chris Osa Isokpunwu has emphasized the need to revive the steel sector and use it to grow the nation’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP, as well as revolutionize the country’s economy.

Chris in a press release issued by Tine-Iulun Maureen, For: Head, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry made this emphasis when he played host to the Association of Benin Community, Abuja who were on a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry’s Headquarters to felicitate with him for his appointment as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Steel Development by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

While expressing appreciation for the visit, he stated that the task of being the Permanent Secretary of a Ministry through which the government want to expand and grow the economy was a daunting task noting however, that “With the support of the Association and other critical stakeholders in the steel sector success will be attained.”

Earlier, President of the Association, Barr. Lucky Odigie who led the delegation described the Permanent Secretary as an astute achiever who wants the best for everybody.
