Group takes free medical outreach to Boko Haram ravaged community in Adamawa

At least 3000 patients from Boko Haram ravaged communities in Adamawa State were at the weekend given free medical care by a group known as The Harvest Family Outreach (THFO).

The free medical outreach taken to Garaha, in Hong Local Government Area was supported by Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA), Adamawa State chapter.

The Medical outreach was said to be the first of its kind in the state, according to the project coordinator, Chioma Odili.

Odili noted that the outreach was an annual event, held also in Kaduna and some other northern states, aiming to address health challenges among vulnerable people.

She disclosed that the free medical campaign was targeting to reach 5000 ailing persons.

Health issues tackled at the event were HIV test, blood pressure screening, hepatitis B and C and random blood sugar test.

The director of THFO, Nimord Musa, who was represented by Dr. Lemuel Musa, assured that they covered all categories of patients, including children.

“We have been doing this medical outreach and other programs for some time now but I must tell you, with what I see here and the testimonies in the last two days gives us great worries and concerns about the health needs of our people, the people need good health care, water and more,” Musa said.
