FG Committed to networking all roads in FCT – Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has said that the federal government was committed to connecting all the roads in the city of Abuja in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Ahmed Tinubu.

The project initiated by the FCT minister is built for delivery by May 2025 to commemorate the second year anniversary of the administration of President Bola Ahmed.

The Minister, who made this known during during the flag-off of the construction of an inter district road within the Mabushi district of the Territory, said the government would not leave any abandoned projects, adding that variations and augmentations would not happen again.

“Let me say clearly today that what we are doing is to make sure that every district, just like we were in Katampe yesterday, today we are in Mabushi, are all connected.

“I will make sure that we finish those projects. We are not going to leave any abandoned projects for anybody who will not do that.

We are not going to leave any variation or augmentation”, he said.

He emphasised the importance of good roads, stressing that the FCTA would continue to provide basic infrastructure, like good network of roads.

The Minister further said that that good roads were key to reducing the economic hardship of the nation.

“Before creating new districts, the ones I’ve been created should have the basic infrastructure that cities are supposed to have”, he said.

Also speaking, the Chairman Senate Committee on FCT Area Councils and Ancillary Matters, Senator David Jimkuta commended the minister of the federal capital territory, adding that he was the only minister with a less cumbersome and two digit budget.

Jimkuta, while while noting that the flagg-off was another milestone for the FCT, said that President Tinubu’s choice of Wike was not a mistake.

In her remarks, the Head of Service of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Grace Adayilo applauded the minister for giving hope and life to hopeless situations.

She said people would not be tired of celebrating the achievements of the FCT Minister.
