Edo 2024: COYAPPIN urges youth to reject violence, calls for unity ahead Of Okpebholo’s administration

Coalition of Youths across Political Parties in Nigeria (COYAPPIN) for National Development held a press briefing at the Soul Lounge Resort in Jahi, Abuja, emphasizing the importance of peace, unity, and development as Edo State prepares for a new administration under Governor-elect Senator Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, Rt Hon Dennis Idahosa

In the briefing, COYAPPIN convener and National Chairman, Akpeji Omatame Lucky, reiterated the coalition’s mission of empowering youths across Nigeria, regardless of political affiliations. The organization aims to foster political consciousness that goes beyond personal or party interests, focusing on the vital role of young people in nation-building.

Addressing the youth of Edo State, COYAPPIN appealed for calm and peaceful conduct following the recent elections. Lucky urged youths not to be swayed by political leaders into engaging in post-election violence or protests, stressing that unity and peace are crucial to safeguarding the state’s development.

“We urge the youths to remain peaceful and focus on productive activities that will contribute to the growth of Edo State. Unrest will only disrupt the progress we all desire,” said Lucky.

The coalition also congratulated Senator Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa on their electoral success, calling on them to fulfill their campaign promises and prioritize good governance, inclusivity, and development.

COYAPPIN expressed its commitment to working closely with the new administration to ensure these goals are achieved, pledging to mobilize youth support across the state to create a conducive environment for progress.

In conclusion, COYAPPIN reaffirmed its dedication to promoting peace, unity, and youth empowerment in Edo State, emphasizing that collective effort will lead to a brighter future for the region.
