NAICOM to partner Ministry of Blue economy to ensure compliance with marine insurance

THE National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has set a plan in motion to partner Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy to create a portal for verification of Marine insurance policies and explore options in the cabotage act to ensure compliance with insurance requirements.

This was the fallout of the working visit by the Executive Management of NAICOM led by the Commissioner for Insurance Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin to the Hon. Minister of Marine & Blue Economy Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola in his Office in Abuja on Thursday October 3, 2024.

According to a statement by NAICOM, “The meeting discussed collaboration between the Commission and the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

“Some of the areas for collaboration are through creating a portal for verification of Marine insurance policies and exploring options in the cabotage act to ensure compliance with insurance requirements.”

Mr. Omosehin, since assumption of office in May, has visited various governmental agencies, institutions, and states governments to seek collaboration and support on how to improve insurance uptake among Nigerian populace.
