The Bauchi State Government through the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved the immediate suspension of two serving Permanent Secretaries and one Chief Executive Officer (Account) from the State Service for what they alleged as serious misconduct with effect from 27th September, 2024.

According to a statement issued yesterday by the Information Officer of the CSC, Saleh Umar stated that the suspension was considered during the Commission’s 1st Extraordinary sitting in the year on 30th September, 2024 that was held at its conference Hall.

He explained that the Commission during the session reviewed the recommendations and other available documents presented before it on the affected Officers submitted by the Office of the State Head of Civil Service which recommended appropriate disciplinary actions against the Officers.

The Commission approved the suspension under Section 0331 of the Bauchi State Public Service Regulations to give room for further investigation since the matter is currently with the relevant authorities.

The Permanent Secretaries suspended are Sa’idu Abubakar of the Ministry for Higher Education, Danjuma Garba of the SSGs Office as well as Bala Ibrahim Sabo, a Chief Executive Officer (Account) with the Ministry of Natural Resources respectively.

The Chairman of the Commission Alhaji Abubakar Usman Madakin Bunun Bauchi, warned the State Public/Civil Servants to adhere to the rules of engagement in the conduct and discharge of their responsibilities, saying the Commission is making efforts to sanitize the State Civil Service.
