Bauchi TCN tasks stakeholders on electricity power supply in Nigeria

The General Manager of the Transmission Company of Nigeria TCN Bauchi, Engineer Abubakar Garba Abdulaziz has called for synergy among critical stakeholders of the electricity generation, transmission and distribution to guarantee power supply in the country.

Engineer Abubakar Garba Abdulaziz was speaking yesterday during interactive session with the media in his office and noted that the company has the needed manpower to man the 27 generation stations across the country.

He solicited for the support of religious and traditional leaders to sensitize and mobilize people to safeguard facilities of the company for uninterrupted power supply.

The TCN GM noted that the Bauchi Office has the largest transmission network to meet the power demands, yearnings and aspirations of people along the region.

“I am optimistic that by next year the Bauchi 330 KVA line will be ready for commissioning and if put into use, it will enhance power supply in the state and beyond.” Engineer Abubakar said.

He said the federal government in collaboration with international donor partners is upgrading all facilities and the transmission lines across the region to ensure constant power supply.

Engineer Abubakar decried constant vandalisation of transmission lines and encroachments of the right of way which hampered smooth operations of the company.

“There is an ardent need for the state governments to help us stop people from construction and carrying out business on the corridors of the right of way” The General TCN Manager solicited.

He called on the state governments and other critical stakeholders to sensitize people on the importance of safeguarding the assets of the federal government for the overall development of the country.

“I really appreciate the efforts and initiative of some local government areas in Yobe state where they engage the Civilian Joint Task Force to monitor as well as prevent transmission lines from vandalism. Engineer Abubakar explained.

The meeting was attended by management of the TCN Bauchi office who called on people to exercise more patience as engineers of the company are working round the clock repair the damage towers along Kaduna region noted that their role was to ensure constant power transmit information to the public.
