Independence: The dawn of better days is near, Reps tell Nigerians

As Nigeria celebrates her Independence Anniversary, the House of Representatives has extended warm greetings to all Nigerians saying “today we celebrate not only our hard-fought freedom but also the rich tapestry of our diverse cultures, the resilience of our people, and the collective spirit that binds us as one great country.”

In a statement in Abuja yesterday, the House asked Nigerians not to lose hope because “the dawn of better days is near.”

“This year, as we reflect on our journey, we acknowledge the challenges many citizens are facing. Economic difficulties and social struggles have tested our resolve, yet our unwavering strength and determination shine through.

“In the face of adversity, we have, as a people, demonstrated the remarkable ability to persevere, knowing that “the dawn of better days is near,” the statement signed by its spokesperson, Hon. Akin Rotimi jr read.

The Speaker, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, in a congratulatory message to Nigerians at home, and in Diaspora on the occasion, notes: “As we navigate these challenging times, I encourage all citizens to uphold the law and support one another, embodying the spirit of resilience that will propel us towards a brighter future.”

“Let us unite in support of our governments at all levels, harnessing the power of collective action to drive Nigeria’s resurgence and attainment of greatness,” he added.

Speaking further, he said “In alignment with our Legislative Agenda (2023 – 2027), the 10th House of Representatives remains committed to legislative actions that will stimulate economic growth, improve living standards, and enhance social welfare for all citizens. We are actively working to create a more equitable society where opportunities abound, ensuring that every Nigerian can thrive.”
